Regular courses are available at the clinic. The courses for 2013 are as follows:

Foraging Course 14th or 21st July 2013

The foraging course will consist of a whole day of herbal identification walks broken by a lunch break. We will start the day looking at chalk downland habitat with Wild Thyme and Eyebright amongst many other beautiful medicinal herbs.  We will take in old pasture and hedgerow plants as well as having a good look at my herb field where I will show you the different plants growing there and how to use them. Our route will take in beautiful views of Cattistock and beyond.

We will have a lunch break at the clinic in Cattistock. Please bring a packed lunch. I will provide a wide variety of locally gathered dried herbs to sample as infusions, but if you prefer there will also be ‘ordinary’ tea and coffee!

In the afternoon we will experience herbs which grow in a wetter habitat by the river.  Whilst we will be moving at a relaxed pace you will need to be prepared to walk a reasonable distance over the course of the day. You will need to bring wet weather gear and wear wellies or walking boots.  At the end of the day you will be given two packs of locally gathered dried herbs to take home and get your medicine chest started.

10.00am to 4.00pm at the clinic.

Cost: £75.00 per person

Herbal Medicine Making Course 12th or 13th October 2013

This herbal medicine making course will be a day of learning about herbal medicines and how to make them.  We will learn about different herbs and how they may be prepared as infusions, decoctions, tinctures, tonics, capsules, infused oils, ointments and external treatments such as footbaths and poultices.  We will be focusing on herbs which are readily available and we will be looking at uses suitable for everyday family ailments.  This means that you will feel confident to start using your own preparations straight away.  You will need to bring a packed lunch but again I will provide a wide range of herb teas or ‘ordinary’ tea and coffee.

This will take place indoors at the clinic so you will not need to bring wet weather gear.  At the end of the day you will be given four different herbal preparations to take home and get your medicine chest started.  Numbers for this course are very limited so book early to guarantee a place.

10.00am to 4.00pm at the clinic.

Cost: £85.00 per person

If you book both courses and pay for them before March 31st you can have them for the special price of £140.00.  Email me on lucy@myrobalanclinic.com to reserve your place.
